Sunrise on Riva Centauris (03:08) – JUST RELEASED ! ! !

A genuine chill out track, totally made with samples, inviting you to relax and start to day-dream by painting a deep and emotional soundscape about the sun rising on an imaginary planet, far away, maybe in another galaxy…

This song is entirely made with samples/electronic instruments, modified and assembled together with ReNoise.

Here is an excerpt of the list of the many samples I used (many of them I modified and edited; I have rights to all of them, some are from the Freesound project, others from sample collections offered in Computer Music Magazine and similar):

erh-cello-midi, GatedSynth, EfAtmosphere, HPF_pad, Water_percussion, SoftSynthStrings, and many others.

Mixed and edited with the fantastic Ardour DAW.

Thanks to my parents, my wife and everyone who encouraged me to go on with this track.

Keep Calm And Carry On (04:24)

In this track, the squirrel explores a new territory: electronic music.
So it’s quite different from the other tracks, but still preserving the spirit of this album and this project: it fits into the context because it’s actually a Down-tempo track. The first one I’ve made 🙂

The inspirational sentence that also gave name to this track has an interesting historical background: “Keep calm and carry on” were the words being massively advocated by the British Crown during World War II, coming close to what could be called propaganda. I thought it’s still usable keeping in mind state of things today, but at the same time it is really ironic… So I liked it 😀
Check out the article on Wikipedia, where you also find the poster they made: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keep_Calm_and_Carry_On

Except for the voices, the track is fully based on samplers.

Trackart image for electronic/acoustic fusion track with intriguing lyrics3 Feet and 1/2 (02:50)

A smooth and misterious, very melodic track, trying to bridge the worlds of electronic music and acoustic sound. The lyrics are almost an enigma, let me know if you think you discovered the meaning of “3 feet and 1/2” ;)…

Until now the song I’ve produced that has the longest vocal part, only sharing protagonism with my classical guitar.

Lyrics:

“Rain, Fire, Hope, Loss. Turn left, follow me – go three feet and a half…

It doesn’t have to be like this, it’s closer than you think

Just three feet and a half away, go there before it’s gone…

Walk, Love, Money, Live. Turn right, don’t look back – go three feet and a half…

It doesn’t have to be like this, it’s closer than you think

Just three feet and a half away, go there before it’s gone…

Don’t wait no more, just three feet and a half —

Go do it now, tomorrow it’s too late!”
